Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation has a bold vision for creating rental and ownership housing that is attainable and sustainable for people working in our town. Our goal is to create a path to residency for the people that work in our communities who might otherwise be unable to access or afford market housing in The Blue Mountains.

BMAHC is about to embark on our first development, which will create attainable rental housing at our Gateway site in Thornbury. This development will be a mixed-use development with commercial space on the ground floor and multi-unit residential uses on upper floors. The residential units will be a mix of attainable (at 20% below Median Market Rent) and market rental rates.

This project represents an opportunity for local builders/developers to give back to their community, support the development of quality housing stock outside your usual market, and lay the foundation for future partnership opportunities with BMAHC. A Request for Prequalification has been issued on December 16, 2020.

To help us bring this project to life, we have pre-qualified four design build partners who are as passionate as we are about helping people working in The Town of The Blue Mountains reach their goals for living where they work. These design builders will be invited to submit a design and cost proposal to the Request For Proposals (RFP) expected to be issued late in 2021.
